Transform

Not long ago, I had a dream.

I was speaking with some people and mentioned an old friend. As the conversation continued, I suddenly realised that this friend was standing right beside me. We began to chat, and she started to prophesy over me. Then, without warning, she took hold of my head with both hands, looked me straight in the eyes, and loudly exclaimed, "Transform!"

The moment she spoke, still in my dream, I felt the Holy Spirit come upon me. Tears welled up, and I sensed the weight of that moment resting heavily on me.

When I woke up, I looked up the meaning of the word transform.

It means to undergo a deep and radical change — not merely an adjustment, but a complete change in nature, character, purpose, or function. It's the difference between a caterpillar becoming a butterfly.

As I pondered the dream, I wondered how God wanted to transform me in this season. Becoming more like Jesus seemed the obvious answer, but that is a lifelong journey. Other thoughts came to mind: becoming a woman of greater courage, stronger faith, and deeper wisdom.

He is calling each of us higher — into greater Christlikeness. He wants to change us into people who are stronger, healthier, more fruitful, more resilient, and filled with His glory.

2 Corinthians 3:18 says, "And we all... are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit."

It felt as though the Holy Spirit was giving a powerful command as this word was spoken over me. He was calling me into something new. Something in me was about to change, and perhaps it is time for my own metamorphosis — the season when I finally emerge as a butterfly.

I also believe the dream carries a second meaning. God is calling us to bring transformation to the world around us — to shape the atmosphere of the places we occupy, whether in our workplace, our family, our church, or the culture of our cities and nations.

Perhaps there are areas where God wants to transform you in this season. Allow the Spirit to have His way. Acknowledge any resistance or fear of what might happen. Trust the process. Trust the One who wants the very best for you, knowing that, in the end, it will lead to greater freedom.
